April is going to be massively exciting for me as I'll be traveling a lot. First up is Rome this Tuesday, so I thought I'd share which bits and pieces I'll be bringing with me.

These are the makeup items I picked out. I haven't packed eyeshadows as I know for a fact I won't be needing them.
○ Face:
NYX HD Green Concealer
Garnier Pure Active BB Cream
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
L'Oreal True Match Concealer
○ Brows:
NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder
Alverde Tinter Eyebrow Gel
○ Eyes:
Essence Eyelash Curler
Maybelline The Rocket Volum' Express Mascara
Wjcon Creamy Push Metallic Eyeshadow (12)

○ Optional (left to right):
eBay
Essence powder brush
eBay
○ Necessary Face Brushes:

eBay
H&M
○ Necessary Eye Brushes:
Essence Eyeshadow Brush
H&M Eyeshadow Brush

So there's a little sneak peek into my travel makeup bag. As you can see, I kept it very minimal, because I might buy some new items. Next blog post will also be travel related, so keep your eyes peeled!

Here's another advice Thursday as I've been a bit or a wreck for the past 18 hours (yes, because of Zayn leaving One Direction) and couldn't think of anything else. Basically, I've been watching American Horror Story a lot lately, and last night a certain quote really got to me and so I'm writing about it today. The quote was: ''Let it all in and then let it all go'', which seems really simple and not something that would get you thinking. However, I tried to relate to it a bit.
As I've said before, I'm not really the one to have outbursts of emotions, so I always try to ignore the 'let it all in' part. Well, that's not always the best way to go, it's much easier to let it go when you've let it in and let it sink in. Whatever the problem is, try not to ignore it - feel it and get ready to move on with your life. It definitely is easier to bottle things up, but it's also nice to let it out every once in a while and then you're as good as new. Whether the problem is your favourite band getting a step closer to falling apart or something of actual importance, embrace it and learn something from it. You don't have to cry and bawl your eyes out if you don't want to, but do let it sink in in the way you are comfortable with.
I am truly sorry if this is too cheesy, but it works as a reminder to myself that it's okay to feel things and hopefully you'll get something out of it as well.
Talk to you Saturday!
P.S. If you are a fellow Directioner, I don't recommend going on tumblr.

Today I wanted to share one of my favourite tricks with you guys. Not gonna make this intro too long, let's get into it right away.
All you will need for this is your favourite powder eyeshadow, a moisturizer and a brush. What you want to do is put a decent amount of eyeshadow on the back of your hand, add a small amount of moisturizer on it and MIX! After you've mixed it all together, use your brush to apply the newly created cream eyeshadow onto your eyelid. You'll be left with a nice pigmented colour on your eyes that's gonna look nice and dewy. It all depends on the amount of eyeshadow and moisturizer you use, but it's just a personal preference really.
This is possibly the shortest blog post on here, but hopefully it's a good one. Enjoy!

''You spend your whole life stuck in the labyrinth, thinking about how you'll escape it one day, and how awesome it will be, and imagining that future keeps you going, but you never do it. You just use the future to escape the present.'' John Green, Looking for Alaska

If you aren't new to my blog, you will know that I am a huge John Green fan so elaborating his quote can't come as a surprise. You might also know that Looking for Alaska is one of my favourite books, so this blog post was bound to happen.
As you can imagine, this is my favourite quote because I can relate to it 100% just like a lot of you. I could get really deep into this topic, but no one cares that much, so I'll keep it simple. If you're one of the people who haven't read this book, I feel obligated to tell you that the said labyrinth is the labyrinth of suffering. Definitely doesn't have to be as severe as it sounds, but we all have our worries and problems. Due to that fact, I can imagine that a lot of us like to picture our life being a lot different and better in the future. Near or far, but the future is where we take refuge from all the stress. And by trying to escape the present situation and plan out how our lives will turn out once we forget to participate in the present. I think you get the gist of what I mean.  Why do we do this? To comfort ourselves, no doubt. But I think we should try and enjoy our lives as much as we can until that better tomorrow we are hoping for comes along. Also, it most likely will not get better on its own, try to make a difference yourself. Try getting out instead of escaping. It takes time, but you learn so much more by actually taking part in your own life and dealing with things rather than being absent and not caring about now. Some would say that all we have is now. Keep that in mind.

You've probably noticed that nowadays we tend to spend too much time on the Internet collecting irrelevant information, constantly checking up on social media and all the new trends. No one knows why, it's not necessary at all. However, it can all get a bit too much and become very overwhelming so we just need an escape from commotion. It's definitely easier said than done, though.
My concentration has recently been really bad because there's always a text I need to reply to or I just have to check the likes on my latest Instargam photo. It's really annoying how caught up I get, so I found a few ways to disconnect myself. All you need is a hobby.
For me, making collages seems to be helping - all the cutting and gluing and searching bits and pieces to incorporate into the collage. In a way it really calms me, but it's also very exciting. All in all - it's really relaxing and it helps me to self reflect while doing something a bit different to my everyday routine.
But this is not a post about collages, it's a post about hobbies. Well, kind of.
My point is that when you feel a bit too involved in the virtual world, I suggest you find something that you can do with your time that doesn't include the Internet. Whether it be painting or writing or composing or solving math equations even - whatever helps you free your mind from all the crap, excuse the expression. Art is just my personal favourite distraction. Also, try reading books as there's a chance you relate to them in a comforting way which releases some tension.
I think it's really important to take some time for your thoughts and commit to introspection from time to time instead of getting stuck in a whirlwind of information we don't need. I'm not sure if this blog post had any relevance to anything, but I was experiencing a writer's block and remembered how I hadn't done a thoughtful post in a while. Hopefully, some of you know what I'm on about and can relate or take something from this blog post. Talk to you Thursday!

This week's been too busy (read: I've discovered a new TV show and forgot about everything else), so I thought I'd do a TAG today. Hope you don't mind.
1. Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up or nice hair and no makeup?
Messy hair and nice makeup is basically my everyday go to look, so.
2. Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out?
Have my eyelashes fall out, there are always falsies. Eyebrows are way too important.
3. Would you rather be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life?
Sephora.
4. Would you rather wear lip gloss/lip liner look or 80's perm?
Lip gloss/lip liner look. Although both are horrible.
5. Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?
Oh snap. Probably an obvious foundation line as I’d be able to blend it out at any moment.
6. Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?
I'd never use lip gloss again, I don't use it now anyway.
7. Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?
Definitely all of my mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks and lip glosses - eyeshadows mean too much to me.
8. Would you rather have a bad haircut or bad hair color?
Bad hair colour, I could always go back.
9. Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
Nail polish.
10. Would you rather give up using makeup brushes or mascara?
I think mascara, because then I'd have a proper excuse for not using it. Plus, I love how relieving the no mascara looks are, so I wouldn't really mind. Also, there are falsies and extensions.
11.  Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
Probably a ponytail as it could be messy and casual or sleek and formal - whatever you want really. Have you seen YouTube hair tutorials?
12. Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?
I’d rather give up my favourite lip product. I love my eye products too much.
13. Would you rather only use one eyeshadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
Only one lip colour. Have you noticed how much I neglect my lips yet?
14. If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
I think I would feel very bad if I spent that amount of money on makeup only (although I could), so I have to say clothes.
15. Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick?
Eyeliner as lipstick. There are people who do so, and maybe it would look good if it was a nude colour.

That's it for today, sorry it's so short, but there's a log of things coming your way in April! Talk to you Saturday!

My skin has been much better recently - I still have redness in my T-zone, but I have much fewer spots appearing. Due to this fortunate turn of events, I've managed to find a way to get a really good base which consists of good coverage, natural finish and top notch longevity. Here's what I do...
      Step 1:
I use my green NYX HD Concealer in my T-zone to counteract the redness on my face. I apply it with the small angled round brush from my eBay set. As well as getting rid of redness, I find it makes the next layer, which is foundation/BB cream, a bit lighter. This is a massive plus because both all my base products are too dark for me. If you wanna read more about it, do so here.
     Step 2:
I've been using my trusty Garnier Pure Active BB Cream recently for a few reasons: 1) it's much more natural, 2) my foundation is running out and I'm using it very sparingly and 3) I think it's better for my skin. I apply it with the big rounded brush from the same eBay set. It leaves a nice natural finish and has a medium coverage. If you wanna read my in depth opinion on it, I've done a whole review so just click here.
     Step 3:
This is totally optional (well, so are all the steps), but my under-eye circles are absolutely horrible, so I'm always looking for a way to hide them. Depending on my mood, I use either my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer or the L'Oreal Perfect Match one. I don't use brushes, just my fingers for applying it.
     Step 4:
The last step is powder obviously, cause I don't wanna be looking like a shine ball during the day. I'm obviously using the cult product - Rimmel Stay Matte. I have it in the shade 003 Peach Glow, but I'm sure a transparent one would be just as good. I like using it with either the big flat brush from the eBay set, or my H&M BB Cream/Foundation brush. I only set my T-zone and under-eye area.
     Extra Step:
If I wanna jazz things up a bit, I use the Maybelline Baby Lips in Peach Kiss as a highlighter.
Here's a selfie so that you can get an idea of how it looks. For more examples, visit my Instagram (@tomin_jo).
I think a nice base and a strong eyebrow game is more than enough for an everyday makeup for school and it's what I've been rocking. Hope you got some ideas from this post and if you wanna read my review on the brushes that I've mentioned a hundred times - here. And excuse the intense use of plugs in this post. Goodbye for now.

I've been thinking lots about how to get a bit of diversity and dynamic into my blog and I though I should try and write 2 posts a week - Thursdays and Saturdays. Thursdays are going to be more chilled though, so expect quotes, playlists, tags, etc. Saturdays are gonna be post which need a bit more time. Without further ado, let's dig in.

,,Don't ever tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing everybody" -J.D Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye

I am generally a person who doesn't tend to share too many things broadly. Some would call me an introvert.  For that reason, I can relate to this quote, although I do have mixed feelings about it.
I partly agree with it, only to a certain extent, though. I believe that certain stories and experiences are better left untold – kept to yourself. This isn't because I have trust issues (might have something to do with it, okay), it’s simply that it’s easier to enjoy some things on your own. Because, the more people know about something, the less personal it is. I don’t know, I just think that when you remember things it can be nice to feel like they’re your little secrets that you get to cherish without anyone ruining them. The moment you start telling people it loses the significance and it can feel like the memories are slipping away from you. Or you simply remember how nice it was and you start missing everything, like the author said.
On the other hand, sometimes it is easier to discuss things with your friends and family. It can be quite therapeutic and calming in a way to know that you can rely on someone. Let’s be honest, sometimes you simply can’t contain yourself and you need to confide to another human. I think it all comes down to the situation – some are for sharing and some are not. It’s that simple.

That’s basically it, there’s not much more to say here. Hope you’re enjoying these posts, talk to you Saturday.
