Jovana Tomin

I'm currently in Rome visiting my sister and I thought I'd just share the things I've brought with me makeup wise. It's not a very hefty makeup bag, I wanted to keep it quite light and not go over the top by packing my whole makeup collection. These are just some of the key pieces I couldn't travel without.
Of course I can't go anywhere without a foundation, so my trusty L'Oreal Infallible 24h Matte (review) is a must. Concealer is also important for those horrible under-eye bags and days when I don't feel like applying foundation just to have it melt off my face. Next up is powder, of course, followed by a setting spray (review) to lock the face in place and make it look more natural and glowy. For highlighter, I've been using an eyeshadow from the palette below.

The palette in the first picture is essential, because the last eyeshadow is the one I use for my brows. Along with that, I have to bring my clear brow gel. Next up is the eyelash curler and my favourite Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara (review). The KIKO eyeshadow stick (review) is something I thought I'd bring in case I want a quick and cute eye look. The Makeup Revolution Palette (review) is a must as it's the most beautiful product that I own and it contains the best highlighter shade. I also forgot to add my brow gel to the photo. It's just a random clear gel, but still essential.

You can tell I decided to keep it minimal and simple as I know I don't feel like doing too much makeup anyway. It is be way too hot so there's no point. Also, sorry for the state of my products, I should probably wipe them a bit. Whoops.

Next post coming on Wednesday.

Let's see the 2nd round of questions.
26. Do you know triplets?
I don't even think I know twins.
27. Do you prefer Titanic or The Notebook?

I've never watched Titanic and I used to adore The Notebook, although I haven't watched it in ages.
28. Have you ever had Indian food?

Yes and I absolutely loved it.
29. What’s the name of your favorite restaurant?

I don't really go to restaurants, so I don't have a favourite.
30. Have you ever been to Olive Garden?

Nope.
31. Do you belong to any warehouse stores (Costco, BJ’s, etc.)?

Nope.
32. What would your parents have named you if you were the opposite gender?

I don't think they had an alternative name.
33. If you have a nickname, what is it?

Oh, I've got many. Some based on my first name (Joca, for an example) and some based on my last name, but I also get called by my just last name from time to time.
34. Who’s your favorite person in the world?

Probably my brother and sister, tbh.
35. Would you rather live in a rural area or in the suburbs?

The suburbs cause they're closer to the urban area.
36. Can you whistle?

Not even to save my life.
37. Do you sleep with a nightlight?

No, but I don't mind a little light peaking through either.
38. Do you eat breakfast every morning?

Yes, without exception.
39. Do you take any pills or medication daily?

No. Except for when I get headaches every day so I take painkillers.
40. What medical conditions do you have?

None.
41. How many times have you been to the hospital?

I don't think I've ever stayed in hospital.
42. Have you ever seen Finding Nemo?

Yes, but very long ago and I don't really remember it.
43. Where do you buy your jeans?

Wherever I find a pair that fits nicely. Jeans shopping is the absolute worst.
44. What’s the last compliment you got?

I was either complimented on my outfit or my hair last, I can't remember.
45. Do you usually remember your dreams in the morning?

I don't usually. Only if I really enjoyed them or if they were particularly weird.
46. What flavor tea do you enjoy?

I love a lot of variations of green tea.
47. How many pairs of shoes do you currently own?

1 pair of sandals, 1 pair of flats, 2 pairs of sneakers, 2 pairs of ''smart'' shoes, 2 pairs of boots and a pair of ankle boots. I think that's all. I really want some new ones, I absolutely love buying shoes.
48. What religion will you raise your children to practice?

Whatever they choose. I consider myself an agnostic, but I don't mind other people being religious and I wouldn't want to limit my kids for sure. Believe whatever resonates with you.
49. How old were you when you found out that Santa wasn’t real?

Oh, I have no idea whatsoever. I was pretty young, I presume.
50. Why do you have a tumblr?

My first ever tumblr was mainly a One Direction fandom one. My current one, however, I really like using cause I find it very aesthetically pleasing and it's quite calming and interesting scrolling through and reblogging posts that I can relate to or I think go well with the look of my blog. I also find myself browsing through my own blog quite a lot cause I just really enjoy what it looks like.

So, that's the tag done. I've quite enjoyed answering these questions, but I think I'm done with tags for a while. Talk to you next week.

Wow, I haven't done a tag in ages! This one is pretty long, so I decided to split it into two posts and not to stall too much in the intro, but jump straight into it. Let's dig in.
1. What’s your favourite candle scent?
Vanilla all day every day, for sure.
2. What female celebrity do you wish was your sister?

I mean, I'm pretty content with my real life sister, but if we were to have another one I think Megan Ellaby would be fun. Also, have you seen her outfits? She's absolute goals.
3. What male celebrity do you wish was your brother?

Same situation as with my sister, so if I were to choose another brother I think it would be Troye Sivan. He seems like a really nice person and a lot of fun.
4. How old do you think you’ll be when you get married?

Oh wow. I genuinely have no idea, possibly in my late twenties? I don't know, I'm just gonna move on from this question asap.
5. Do you know a hoarder?

Definitely not - I love throwing things out.
6. Can you do a split?

Almost.
7. How old were you when you learnt how to ride a bike?
I have no clue, I was probably around 5.
8. How many oceans have you swam in?

If the Mediterranean Sea counts as a part of the Atlantic, then only that one. If it does not, then none.
9. How many countries have you been to?

Montenegro, Romania, Italy, Switzerland and Hungary.
10. Is anyone in your family in the army?

Nope.
11. What would you name your daughter if you had one?

If she were to have an English name, I would maybe go for Blair. In general, I quite like shorter names.
12. What would you name your son if you had one?

Again, if we're talking English names, I really like Noah for an example. Boys' names are much prettier in my opinion, it's a much easier task.
13. What’s the worst grade you got on a test?

I've had 'em all.
14. What was your favourite TV show when you were a child?

All the Disney shows basically - The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place and so on.
15. What did you dress up as on Halloween when you were eight?

Nothing because we don't celebrate Halloween here.
16. Have you read any of the Harry Potter, Hunger Games or Twilight series?

I've read 4 Harry Potter books, but I never finished the series. I probably should.
17. Would you rather have an American accent or a British accent?

British for sure.
18. Did your mother go to college?

Yes, she did.
19. Are your grandparents still married?

If they were all alive, they would probably still be married.
20. Have you ever taken karate lessons?

Nope.
21. Do you know who Kermit the frog is?

Of course.
22. What’s the first amusement park you’ve been to?

Just a small local one. I've never been to a big, famous one.
23. What language, besides your native language, would you like to be fluent in?

I mean, I'm studying Swedish in college so that would be pretty cool to be fluent in. I'd also love to speak German, Italian and Spanish.
24. Do you spell the colour as grey or gray?

Grey, I think. It varies from time to time.
25. Is your father bald?

Not completely.

There you have it - the 1st part of this tag. Next part is coming on Wednesday.

I've been toying with the idea of getting a setting spray to up my foundation game for absolutely ages, and I finally got around to doing it. I opted for the NYX Dewy Finish one because it's summer and I want to look glowy. I'm not sure if it was the right decision as I don't know what the matte one is like, but for now, I'll have to stick with it.
The bottle is pretty lightweight and easy to carry around if you need to. I like the way the product is dispersed onto the face - it's a kind of a very light mist and it doesn't make you soaking wet, which I guess is the whole point. However, I have to mention one thing that is very uncomfortable for me and that's the smell. It absolutely stinks of alcohol and I do not like that one bit. I don't want alcohol on my face, thanks. That's something I'm trying to get used to.
I like the actual effect of the product, though. I feel like it makes my foundation and powder really sink into the skin and look a little more natural and much less powdery, which is always a plus. It does look pretty dewy and makes the highlighter pop. As for the staying power, I haven't really timed it, but I do think it helps prolong the foundation wear. When I get home after a long night out everything is still in its place, although my T-zone still gets oily. I don't think it makes a huge, huge difference, but maybe because of the placebo effect and because I don't want to admit that I've wasted my money I think it works. I think with these products is very difficult to tell if they actually do the job or not, or at least it is for me. The main reason I use it is to make my base look better.
I think if you're looking for a spray to actually lock the foundation in place, maybe go for a different one. If you just want a refreshing spritz to make your base look that extra bit flawless, then by all means go for this one.

My last exam of the summer was yesterday and now that that's finished, my summer can finally start. I've been looking forward to this day for ages and I can't wait to just chill and have fun and forget about studying for a little while. Here's what I am looking forward to doing:
○ reading something that isn't a textbook or any type of exam material - I've got a long list of books I want to read and I wanna try and tick some of them off
○ catching up with all the TV shows that I love, but haven't really got around to watching the new episodes - Suits, Scandal, How to Get Away With Murder
○ sunbathing without a book in my lap and getting a nice tan
○ napping whenever I want
○ dedicating my time to improving my Swedish
○ hanging out with my friends more
○ waking up without an alarm
○ getting out of the house more
○ doing all these things and not feeling guilty about it
So there - a few simple things that will mean the world to me. What about your plans?
