You might have seen on my Twitter that I got the Real Techniques Sculpting Set recently. It contains a setting brush, a contour brush and a fan brush. The hairs are synthetic and the handle is metallic pink.
The first brush I'm gonna talk about it is the setting brush. It's small and tapered which makes it perfect for the under-eye area. I use it both for blending out concealer and for setting the smaller parts of my face (such as my under-eyes, my nose and chin). It has totally changed the game for me. I used to use my Essence Powder Brush for applying powder all over my face, and I wouldn't say that one is bad, but I prefer the Real Techniques one at the moment. Because it's so small, I don't use it all over the face - that's a big surface and nobody has got the time for that, but I love it anyway. It's great at blending concealer as well. I give it a 9/10 because of the size, but that's not a huge issue.
The second brush is the contour one. Now, ever since I got my NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette (review) I've been a little bit obsessed with contouring. The only issue was that I didn't have appropriate brushes so I had to improvise. This set has definitely made it much easier on me. The contour brush is just the right shape to get into the hollows of your cheeks and sculpt them out. I normally apply bronzer in layers by first mapping out the contour by tapping the product where it should be, and then I start blending it. You can get a very sharp contour with this brush because of its shape and the dense hairs, but you can just as easily blend it out by using it at a different angle. This one gets a 10/10 from me.
Last, but not least is the fan brush. This one might be my favourite brush ever. I am a huge fan of highlighter and I use it religiously - sometimes I overdo it slightly. When this brush came into my life, everything became much easier and more enjoyable. I tend to mix both highlighters from the NYX palette and then I apply them onto my cheekbones. This brush is the perfect shape for that - it cups the cheekbones in a way which helps get the highlight on in just a few swipes. It's super soft and it makes life much easier. 10/10 no doubt.
So, if you're a sucker for contouring like most people seem to be at the moment, I recommend getting this set because it will change your life.

As you may or may not know, I've been using coconut oil on my brows every night for quite a few months now. Here is the blog post explaining it and the first update.
So, after doing this technique for about 6 moths now, I can safely say that I hugely recommend it. I said in my previous update that I noticed a bit of a difference in my eyebrows, but I wasn't quite sure if it was the coconut oil. Well, now I am sure that it is the oil that's making my eyebrows grow much more quicker.
My brows are currently exactly the shape I want them in and they've gotten pretty thick as well. I had a bit of a brow mishap recently - they were too thin for my liking and they did not have a shape what so ever. After just a few weeks of religiously using coconut oil every night, my brows were back on track.
I am still using it every night before I go to sleep, and I sometimes apply it during the day when I know I'm not going anywhere. It's become a part of my night time routine, it takes just a few seconds and the results are divine. If you're having trouble growing your brow, definitely try this out. Good luck!

This blog post is really late and I apologize for that. But better late than never, right?
Lately I've been really pushing myself to get out of my comfort zone and start going to school with no foundation on my face. It probably sounds ridiculous if you've got nice skin or if you're just confident and used to not wearing makeup. I don't have the worst skin in the world, but it's not the way I'd like it to be either, so foundation was definitely my safety blanket.

However, I've decided to stop caring about what other people might think and to gain some confidence when it comes to my skin. I used to feel much better about it when I was wearing foundation and I got sick of having to apply makeup every morning. I realized that I could use that time to sleep a bit longer or have a proper breakfast or whatever I wanted.
I'm not saying I've stopped wearing foundation completely, just that I got a bit more brave and went to school without it. Ever since, I haven't worn anything on my face to school and it feels super liberating.

I'd been scared of people's reaction or the way I would feel exposed in that way in front of all of my classmates. Of course, I realized that none of them care if I ware makeup or not, and why would they? What I'm trying to say is, if you've got a problem with your skin, or anything else that you keep covering up, just try and break out of that habit. Obviously you don't have to make a change over night, you can do it gradually. If your problem is like mine, you can first start wearing only concealer, then try and scratch that too. Actually, do it however you want, I'm just trying to say that no one will care if you're wearing makeup or going bare faced. Most people are too self involved to notice and others just don't care, just like you don't care if they do or do not wear makeup. No one will look at you differently or judge you, and if they do, why would you even care about their opinion then?

The point of this blog post was just to give some of you a bit of a push if you can relate to me on this. All I can say is just try it! If you're not comfortable, go back to your comfort zone. I hope this post gave some of you at least a little bit of motivation or reassurance. Feel free to send me some of your experiences in the comments below, I'd love to read them. Bye for now.

First of all, let me just address that the title is supposed to be a pun because this is a cheer-up playlist so I put cheers instead of here's. I did this makeup look last Friday and I couldn't stop staring at myself in the mirror so I figured I'd better write a blog post explaining how I did it. As you can tell from above, I also couldn't help but take lots of selfies showing just how on fleek my face was. Now I'll get into the steps I took.
Eyes:
1) I primed my eyelids with the Alverde primer because I was going out and I didn't want my eyeshadow sliding off of my eyes. Then I set that in place with some NYX powder.
2) Then it was time to have some fun. I applied my KIKO Eyeshadow Stick in the shade 37 close to the lashes and spread it all over my lid with my fingers. I kept on adding more of it until I got the desired colour. Once that was done, I took an Aura eyeshadow that's a beautiful burgundy pinky shade and applied it to my crease. I also added a bit of bronzer to the crease to create some depth.
3) I decided to be bold and apply some liquid eyeliner. After about 20 minutes of frustration, I managed to get it as even as possible and I stopped messing around with it. To create the illusion of it being purposely messy, I applied a bit of black eyeshadow and blended it over the eyeliner.
4) Before applying mascara, I had to do my brows first (long lashes problems). I used my trusty NYX Cake Powder in the shade Blonde to fill them in and get them into the shape they should be.
5) The mascara I used after I curled my lashes was Maybelline Lash Sensational (review).
Face:
1) For the base, I used the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25h Foundation mixed with some moisturizer to get a more natural and glowy look. To cover up my horrible under-eye circles, I used the Maybelline Fit Me concealer.
2) In order to avoid looking like a bottle of oil, I set my face with NYX powders - under-eyes with the Cream shade and the rest of my face with Soft Light.
3) It was time to add some colour to my face and I did that with the NYX Tan bronzer. After that, I contoured my cheeks using a mixture of the NYX Toffee and Sculpt bronzers.
4) The last step was to make myself look like a disco ball (because that's much better than an oil bottle). First I used the Maybelline Baby Lips in the shade Peach Kiss and then I went over it with the NYX Nectar and Ice Queen highlighters. (all the NYX powders mentioned are from their contouring palette - review)
After all this fuss, I decided to take it to the next level and put some Ice Queen highlighter onto my lips to make them pop. Then I was done and ready for the photos. That's all, I don't think I could've done anything more to my face, to be honest. It took me about an hour or even more to achieve this look, but it was totally worth it.
If you decide to recreate it, be sure to send me some photos. You can do so on twitter (@xoxoxojo) or instagram (@jovtom). You should also follow me on there if you wanna keep up with my shenanigans and things I'm loving. I'm gonna leave you now as I think I've rambled on long enough. Talk to you Thursday! I promise I'll get better at staying consistent.

Okay, the time needs to stop flying by because I am absolutely terrified! I am going to recommend you some things, but know that I am not at all excited about the month of April walking out on us.
○ April Movie: Dirty Grandpa
I know, I know, you've had enough of everyone talking about it, but it's with a good reason. I'll be honest, the reason I watched this movie is Zac Efron, because have you seen his arms? However, Zac is not the only good thing in this movie. It's actually really funny if you're into that kind of humour. It's pretty vulgar, but you just gotta laugh at it cause that's the point. It's basically about a grandpa and his grandson who go on a road trip (for a reason I don't remember) after grandma's death. And grandpa has gone wild. Of course, in the end it turns out he had a meaningful reason for doing all these crazy things and forcing his grandson to go with him, but I won't give it away (although it's not too important). If you're in for a good laugh, give it a try.
○ April TV Show: Girls
I've paused binge watching Friends for the hundredth time and decided to take up a new TV show that I've heard so much about I was getting sick of not being on the band wagon. There's not a proper way to describe this show, or maybe I just don't know how to do so, but I'll try my best. It's Lena Dunham's show about four girls living in New York who are dealing with loads of different life problems. It's not your typical TV show, though, it's very raw and open and not holding anything back. There's nudity, there's real life problems and situations and it simply feels real and honest. It's not necessarily a comedy, but there are some funny moments in it, I would say it's more of a drama. If you're familiar with my taste in movies (I mean the actual favourite ones like The Art of Getting by and Palo Alto), this is sort of like a TV version of that. Not entirely, it's a bit more dramatic and there's more of a plot to it, but it's got that kind of vibe, to me anyway. Give it a try if you're looking for something a bit different.
○ April App: Snapchat
That's right, I've joined the party and I am super glad I did. My phone finally had enough storage, so I took the plunge and installed Snapchat. I am officially converted. I'll be honest, I did use to think that it's sort of stupid, but then all these filters took me to the dark side. I've kind of neglected Instagram because of Snapchat, which is a very strange feeling. I just think it's a much more relaxed way of posting photos - no themes, no editing to make the photo look nice - and everyone is so open which feels more personal. Also, whenever I'm chatting with someone over Snapchat, or I guess snapping, I can't help but laugh out loud while doing it. That's all I have to say about it.

And that concludes my recommendations for this month. You may have noticed I haven't been recommending books. That's because I'm only reading books for school and not pleasure, which I don't really have time for anyway. The last book I've read was The Picture of Dorian Grey, which I've already recommended, but I guess I can do it again. Go read it if you fancy having a philosophical discussion with yourself.

I don't know about you, but my lips have been giving me a very hard time - they've been dry to the point where it hurts - so I decided I needed to take some more drastic measures.
Lip balm was my first choice. I piled it onto my lips multiple times a minute, but it didn't really change the state they were in, it just stang like a beast. That was when I realized lip balm just wouldn't cut it. I knew what I had to do - I had to buy the Nivea Creme. We all know the one - the simplest thing in the classic blue tin that every household most likely has.
I bought the creme and started slathering it onto my lips like a mad person. I wasn't using it sparingly at all, but it paid off. After about 2 days, my horrible flaky lips were back to their normal level of dryness.
This blog post is sort of a reminder that the Nivea Creme is a miracle worker and that you need to have it in your house for emergencies like this. In all seriousness, though, I do think that you should own one because it really works and I'm guessing you'd like your lips to be nice and soft. This sounds like one giant ad for Nivea, but it's definitely not anything like that, I honestly worship it now (only for lips though).
