Lately all I've been reading are books for school, which are supposed to be analysed, not enjoyed. So, I've collected some tips that will help you analyse a book if you need to.
1. Get a notebook that you will keep by your side the whole time you're reading the book.
2. Get a pen/pencil to also keep by your side.
3. Once you've got all the things you need, you can start reading. If you have specific questions given that you should answer, or a topic to write about, write that down in your notebook.
4. When you start reading, try to focus on the important things that are related to your questions (if you have them) and use your pen to underline the things you might need to come back to. You can also mark the pages with sticky notes.
5. If it's a hefty book (something like Tolstoy), I recommend making a lost of characters and maybe a little sum up of their personalities or important details about them.
6. If you don't have any questions or guidelines given, but you're supposed to analyse the whole book, I would make lots of notes about the characters and key situations.
7. A huge tip is to write down quotes. Quotes are the most important part, I feel like, because they will help you out a lot in forming your own opinion on the book and understanding the ideas behind them. If I come across a quote that I think is a great summary of a character for an example, I immediately write it down and make a few notes of my own about it, just to remember why I wrote it down. Also, they're great for justifying your opinions or proving a point.
8. If you don't want to write quotes down, you can underline them or mark the page they're on.
9. Instead of the notebook, you can use your computer if that's easier for you, but I prefer a notebook because I can carry it around with me.

I hope these tips made sense and they can help you out. Leave some of your tips in the comments and I'll talk to you Sunday.

I'm not actually the biggest fan of spring, but I thought like doing a tag today, so here it is.

1. Favourite spring nail polish?

I love pastel colours and I think spring is the perfect time to whip them out. My favourite nail polish is probably KIKO Cupcake Nail Polish 648 which I'm probably gonna paint my nails with as soon as I'm done with writing this post.
2. What's your must-have lip colour this spring?
I don't own a lot of lip products, but I would love to get a brown lipstick, which I guess is more of a autumnal shade, or a really pretty pink - something like Kandy K from Kylie's Lip Kit collection.
3. Show us your favourite spring dress!

I don't really tend to wear dresses in spring, sorry.
4. What's your favourite flower?
My favourite flowers are definitely peonies.
5. Favourite spring accessory?
I love wearing lots of rings or some cute necklaces, but that's all year round though.
6. What spring trends are you most excited about this year?
I guess baby pink is hugely popular, which is fortunate for me because it's my favourite colour at the moment. I'm excited to wear lots of pink eyeshadows, nail polishes, clothes, etc.
7. Favourite spring candle?
I just love a good vanilla candle any time of the year, to be honest.
8. Favourite body spray/perfume for spring?
I don't have a specific one, but for spring and summer I like to wear something really fresh and maybe a bit fruity.
9. What is spring like where you live?
It's is sooo hot! That's the reason I'm not a big fan of spring, because it's not really a transitioning season, it's just early summer. Although, right now it is very gloomy and rainy outside, so I guess it's kind of unpredictable hence the frequent headaches I get.
10. What's your favourite thing about spring?
I think my favourite thing is how beautiful everything is with all the flowers blossoming all over the place. Apart from that, when it's warm instead of boiling hot, it's nice to go for a stroll or do some outdoor activities with friends.
11. Are you a spring cleaner?
Definitely! It's just a matter of time when it happens, but I definitely take a few days to completely clean my room every year (not just in spring obviously). I actually started my spring cleaning yesterday.
12. Any plans for spring break or an upcoming vacation?
I will be spending this spring break studying like a mad person, because I am getting very nervous about the end of high school and the college entrance exam. However, I think I'll be spending Easter with my family, so that might be fun.

That's the end of this tag, hopefully you enjoyed it. I love writing tags! Answering questions is one of my favourite activities cause I'm such a nerd apparently. I'll talk to you Thursday (most likely)!

You know I do quote elaborations from time to time, but this time I decided to take it to the next level and elaborate my thoughts on a whole book. The book in question is The Picture of Dorian Gray, obviously. As I am currently rereading it, I realized how much I had to say about it. I'm definitely not gonna share all my thoughts as that would take a long while. If you haven't read the book, you probably won't know what I'm on about, though.

Most of my thoughts revolve around the one and only Dorian Gray. I've been thinking how we don't actually know Dorian - we know the boy who lord Henry and Basil have created to satisfy their needs. Dorian is merely an idea. Nothing more than that.
In the first part of the book we see Basil's fascination with him; the artist thinks he's beautiful, inspiring, he uses him as a muse and he becomes all his art and with that, his whole life. When Harry meets him, he sees an opportunity - he's young, he's mesmerizingly beautiful and he's naive enough to take in his ideas and actually use them in practice (something Harry himself never had the courage to do).
So, to the both of them Dorian is the idea of perfection and ultimate beauty. They both try to make something out of him that they need in their lives. Dorian, being young and naive, listens to them and believes them, especially Harry, when  they talk about his beauty. He realizes that his looks and youth are what define him and that becomes something he doesn't want to live without. So he sells his soul to keep those qualities forever and lets the portrait age.
I think we could say that the first Dorian is pure and beautiful and just what Basil needs, he's perfect in the artist's eyes. Later in the book they start to drift apart thanks to Harry who has decided to create the Dorian he wanted. I think his main reason was to bring his philosophy about new hedonism to life. He was too scared for that.
So, Dorian is Basil's idea of perfection and then he's Harry's idea of perfection, and everyone else's. He's the ultimate symbol and idea of beauty, class and everything that comes with it. But what is the real him? Is there a real him or is he merely an idea? I think he never found the real him either, he just fitted into the pattern he thought he was supposed to be in. And he too liked the idea of himself.

I guess that's kind of all I have to say right now, it's really difficult to write down your thoughts. Oh well, I did my best.

For today's blog post i decided to write tips for being more productive, because God knows I need these tips myself. I will just quickly apologize for not writing anything on Thursday, I had a family matter to attend to. For updates about my blog, you can follow me on Twitter and be the first to know. Now that that's out of the way, let's get right into the tips.

1) The first tip is definitely to have a good night's sleep. I find that when I get at least about 8 hours of sleep and ideally wake up on my own at a reasonable time, I feel rested and ready for work. Remember not to wake up too late, though, as sleeping for too long can be just as bad as not sleeping enough.
2) Have a good breakfast. If you're like me and you keep eating granola or muesli for breakfast, try to break out of that pattern from time to time. I feel like on school days I don't have the time to prepare a full on breakfast, but on the weekends there's nothing stopping me. Some fried bacon will get you energized and ready to take on the world.
3) To get the ball rolling, do some chores. This is just to get you in the mood for working. If you don't necessarily wanna wash the dishes, at least tidy the room you work in so that your mind is at ease when you're ready to start.
4) Make a list of things you need to do that day. I don't like planning ahead because I tend to write more things than I'm able to do. So when you wake up, think of the things that are essential to be done that day, and if you have some extra time, you can do other things later.
5) Get into an outfit that isn't too comfy and made for lazy days. I feel like when I put jeans on instead of leggings, I am much more in the mood for doing things.
6) Finally, turn off the Internet on your phone or put it in the other room or put it on silent so that you're not distracted by all the messages and notifications that you get during the day.

After you're done with all your assignments, you'll probably feel knackered which is a good sign, so take a shower and go to bed.
P.S. Remember to drink lots of water and have regular meals. Snacks are important so at least have some fruit or a smoothie, it doesn't have to be anything fancy.

This month I haven't really been too experimental, so I don't have lots of recommendations. However, I have watched quite a few movies, so I thought I'd dedicate this month's recommendations to those.
○ Trainwreck (2015)
If you're a fan of Amy Schumer's, you will love this movie because she wrote it. Same goes for John Cena fans (he didn't write it, he's just hilarious to watch). You may or may not know that Amy Schumer is a stand up comedian who you should definitely look up. The movie is somewhat autobiographical . All in all it's a drama and romance, but with lots of comedic elements. It's not your typical rom-com, it's a bit more realistic than that. It's about a girl who's not completely one with her emotions and doesn't really care for love and relationships and how she gradually changes when she meets a man she falls for. It sounds much cheesier than it is, I swear. Give it a try if you're into movies that are more relatable than most Hollywood ones. Maybe you'd like to get to know Amy's stand up comedy before watching the movie, just to know what to expect.
○ Mr Popper's Penguins (2011)
This one is for all the Jim Carrey fans out there. It's about a very business oriented man who lives alone due to being divorced. He constantly forgets about family occasions and disappoints his kids. After his father's death, he receives a package he'd sent him and his life takes a massive turn. Judging by the title, you can probably guess what the package is...
Like most Jim Carrey movies, this one is also hilarious and super cute because of the penguins. It's also a nice family film, if you're into those. I recommend it if you wanna have a good time.
○ Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961)
I'm sure most of you have at least heard of this movie because it is a classic. It's about a girl that considers herself a wild spirit (Audrey Hepburn) and a guy that's much more stable who falls for her. She's kind of quirky and mysterious, some would call her a manic pixie dream girl I guess, she doesn't wanna belong to anyone or have anything belong to her - she's kind of lost trying to find herself. It's from the 60s so the fashion is impeccable and everything is so classy and elegant. For me, it's a real feel-good movie, so go watch it if you haven't.

Those are all the movies I've picked out for you, maybe I'll do more of these kind of recommendations in the future. If you're looking for a music recommendation, all I have to say is Zayn - Mind of Mine. Until next time, goodbye.
