Jovana Tomin

I am a bad blogger and that's just something we all have to learn to live with. I haven't been in the blogging mindset, but I've become obsessed with some music so I'm here to share cause I'm not selfish and sharing is caring.

Years & Years - Palo Santo

As with the first album, for some reason it took me a bit of time to fully commit to listening to it, but since I finally heard the whole thing, I haven't been able to stop listening to it. I love it! I can't exactly decide whether I prefer this one or the first one, but it doesn't really matter, does it? What matters is that this is an amazing album that you should go and listen to. It can lift your mood up if that's what you want, or it can be the thing you listen to when you're down in the dumps and relate to the lyrics. That's another thing - the lyrics are absolutely beautiful, wow! It's a great little pop album with some electronic elements to it, if you ask my musically uneducated self. My fave songs are: Karma, Preacher, Lucky Escape, All For You, If You're Over Me, and that's where I'll stop myself because I could go on until I've named all the songs. Go listen to this gem!

Troye Sivan - Bloom

I mean, leave it to Troye Sivan to release the perfect collection of songs every time. Seriously, there isn't one song I don't like on this album, and that's very much the case with all of Troye's albums and EPs. It's in true Troye Sivan style, pop but with different variations and beautiful lyrics that cause a little nostalgia and make you a bit emo. It's fine, though. It's got upbeat tracks and it's got slower ones and it tugs at all of your heartstrings. My faves are: Postcard, What A Heavenly Way To Die and Seventeen. Check baby Troye out if you haven't yet.
5 Seconds of Summer - Youngblood

Taking it back to the basics and 2014 when I used to be obsessed with 5SOS. This album was a long time coming and I was very excited to hear what it would sound like. As I said, I used to love 5SOS back in the day and so my inner fangirl woke up and was ready for some new songs. All the singles they'd released before the album were fan-tas-tic! I will admit, this isn't my favourite album they've ever made, but I still enjoy listening to it. Every now and then I'll play all the 5SOS songs ever made and it makes me super nostalgic and I love it. This album is very upbeat and, in my opinion, quite different to the previous ones. If you're a fan of these boys and haven't yet given this album a listen, I urge you to do it. My favourite tracks are Valentine, Youngblood, Lie To Me, Moving Along, Talk Fast and Want You Back.

There you go, that's all I have for now. Go enjoy some music now and have fun! Till next time.

''Life isn’t about finding yourself, it’s about creating yourself.'' - Troye Sivan

Kicking things of slightly cheesier than usual today. I don't know about you, but I've always hated the phrase 'finding youself'. Myself is not hiding somewhere and waiting for my, apparently, nonself to find it. Myself is what I am and who I am every day of my life. If I decide to change that, then that is myself. It's simply about doing the things that feel good and authentic and not trying to be like someone else. Yourself is what you stive for, what you love, what you act like, what you talk like, what you enjoy doing. Yourself is not lost, it's whatever you want it to be.

Before I get into it, there's a slight change of plans: instead of writing 10 songs weekly, I will be doing 7 - one for each day of the week. My sister gave me this idea (shoutout to her) so I thought it actually might be better to do it that way. Now I can get started.
1. Troye Sivan - Touch
2. Green Day - Wake Me Up When September Ends
3. Death Cab For Cutie - I Will Follow You Into The Dark
4. 5 Seconds Of Summer - Close As Strangers
5. Simple Plan - Jet Lag
6. Andrew Belle - In My Veins
7. The Neighbourhood - Female Robbery

I'm not going to make this post long by writing an unnecessary intro, let's dig into it. Again, these don't come in any particular order.
1. 5 Seconds Of Summer - I Miss You (Blink182 Cover)
2. Ron Pope - A Drop In The Ocean
3. Lorde - Tennis Court
4. Ellie Goulding - Explosions
5. The 1975 - What Makes You Beautiful (One Direction Cover)
6. Troye Sivan - Fun
7. Daughter - Youth
8. Ed Sheeran - Thinking Out Loud
9. Jamie Campbell Bower - Waiting
10. Colbie Caillat - When The Darkness Comes
Enjoy!

     Hello, everyone!
As this is my first ever (published) blog post, I thought I'd write something about my interests, likes/dislikes and my life in general.  So let's dig in. *types nervously*
Here are some facts about me:
  • The obvious one: my name is Jovana, Jo is my nickname.
  • I am a sixteen-year-old high school student from this little country that goes by the name of Serbia.
  • I come from a family of 5, I have an older brother AND an older sister. Talk about being the baby of the family!
  • I am extremely interested in make-up, fashion and the blogging/vlogging world. I find it all so fascinating and wish I had a part in it all. The reason I started this little blog in the first place was the one and only - Zoe Sugg a.k.a Zoella.
  • I enjoy writing a lot and I've always found it as something I'd like to persue in life.
  • My absolute favourite city in the world is London, even though I've never visited it. I just think it is beautiful; full of history and tradition, but still quite urban; blessed with so many opportunities for young people, etc... It's basically been the place I wanted to visit my whole life, and I hope to do so one day.
  • One Direction is my favourite band and there is not much I can say about that except that I love them quite a lot.
  • TV shows are probably one of the reasons why I don't have a social life...
  • I like taking photos and filming videos, but at the same time I hate my voice in videos so that's a problem.
  • Something I have to point out - my favourite YouTubers. Hands down they are Zoella, who I've mentioned earlier, and Troye Sivan (I have a small crush on him, shh).
  • Now, the music I listen to might not be everyone's cup of tea, but oh well. I listen to a lot of pop artists, but I enjoy r&b, trap and rap music as well as a bit of electro music and indie rock. Also, I am a huge fan of boybands (such as 1D, 5SOS, Arctic Monkeys, The 1975), I'm not gonna get into details here, but I thought it's an important fact.
  • Penguins are my favourite animals and I am not ashamed of it.
  • I honestly don't know what else to write so I am going to leave it at this.
Hopefully, someone will find this somewhat interesting and worth reading, if not, maybe another post. Thank you to anyone who reads this!
