Jovana Tomin

I am finally writing these recommendations on time. September has been a really chill month as it's the last month of my college free life so I tried to make the best of it (a.k.a watch as many TV shows and BuzzFeed videos). Here's what I loved this month.
○ September Movie: Me Before You
If you're in the mood for watching a good rom-com and crying your eyes out, you're at the right place - this movie will get you crying like a baby. Sam Claflin and Emilia Clarke are the perfect couple and they bring lots of chemistry to the movie. Sam plays a character who's been hit by a motorcycle and is suffering consequences (i.e. he's paralyzed) and Emilia's character is a girl taking care of him. It's no spoiler that they fall in love, but I won't get into it too much because it's not your typical romantic movie. Brace yourselves, you won't like the ending.
○ September TV Show: Gossip Girl
I'm repeating myself again, sorry. I just have annual urges to watch this show, it seems. If you're into lots and lots and lots of drama in a TV show, Gossip Girl is the one for you. There's lying, there's cheating, love triangles, revenge, back-stabbing and basically anything you can think of. Plus, they all look really good all the time and the outfits are to die for.
○ September Book: Irving Stone - Lust for Life
Man, I finally finished this book. The fact that I've been reading it for months does not at all mean that I didn't like it, just that my concentrations was horrendous and I couldn't make myself read a book I actually had to pay attention to. However, the book itself is really interesting if you're into Van Gogh's life and work. You'll get to read about his real life as if you were reading a fiction novel, which is a very cool concept. You'll find out more about what kind of life he led and which obstacles he had to deal with along the way. I am a huge Van Gogh fan, so that is why I really wanted to read this book and why I found it fascinating.  This one's for all of you art lovers out there.
○ September Album: Nick Jonas - Last Year Was Complicated
Nick Jonas is giving me life at the moment. I am in love with both of his albums and he's all I've been listening to for the past few weeks. He's a pop artist (surprise, surprise) and his music is very upbeat and cool. I guess that's the word, it's a really cool album. My favourite songs are Bacon, Champagne Problems ad Chainsaw. If you want to get a sneak peek into what the album's like, listen to Jealous, Chains or Bacon to get an idea.
That's all I have to talk about this month. Hopefully I'll have something for you in October as well and I'll have time to write about it. Wish me luck!

Okay, so I am a huge fan of mascaras. I love trying out different ones and seeing how they work with my lashes. My eyelashes are pretty long, so I I get along with most mascaras, but from time to time I meet paths with one that just won't satisfy me at all. To be honest, buying this mascara wasn't my plan. I wanted the regular The Falsies, but as they didn't have it, I decided that this one would be fine. The brush looked interesting and I was excited to try it out. Boy, was I wrong!
The first time I tried it I was hoping that it wasn't the mascara's fault for my horrible looking lashes, but my lash curler. Since then, I have changed my lash curler, but it still will not work. Basically, my problem with this mascara is that it doesn't do anything for my lashes except tint them. I was expectiong volume and drama, as you get with most Maybelline mascaras, but it didn't happen. I was left with black stuck together lashes. It is not a good look for me. Before this one, I'd been using the Lash Sensational one (I highly recommend that one - review), so I decided to put the brush from that one into this tub and keep enjoying the wand. However, the formula is also a huge problem for me. After a few hours of wearing it, I can always find it smeared all across my brow bone - it's not a cute look.
I will continue to use this mascara with the Lash Sensational wand until it dries out on me (which I can't wait for) and then I will most likely repurchase the Lash Sensational, or I'll look around the Rimmel counter.
This is just my honest opinion and experience with this mascara, it might work for someone, but it didn't for me and that is why I would not recommend it.

I don't know about you, but I'd never seen anything like this before I rummaged through my sister's makeup collection and found this little rascal. It's essentially a liquid eyeshadow that you have to shake before use so that the liquid (water?) and pigment mix together. After you've successfully mixed it up, you can then apply it onto your eyes using the dropper. What I do is I take the dropper, which is covered in pigment, and press it onto my lid. Then I quickly blend it out so that it doesn't go dry and I repeat that process until I get the wanted intensity. The color that I've got is 09 which is a coppery brown, I guess. I'm not the best at describing colours, sorry. After it's on my eyelids, I will either leave it like that or I will apply a regular matte eyeshadow in the crease to get more definition.
The eyeshadow itself holds up pretty well and I think it looks really good. In my experience, it stays on longer if you use an eye base or concealer beforehand simply because my eyelids get oily quite quickly. If you've got dry lids, I'm sure you don't even have to prime, just slap this on and you're good to go.

Hopefully you can get an idea of what it looks like from the photos. In the first two, that's the only thing on my eyes, whereas in the third one I have a matte eyeshadow in the crease.
If you're looking for a something that will help you do your eye makeup very quickly, but make you look put together and like you put in more effort than you actually have, I would recommend trying this product out. Let me know your opinion on this product or any similar one that you've tried down below in the comments and I'll talk to your Sunday.

I've never had the best skin. I break out very easily and pretty often and I'm always red. Naturally, I've been on the hunt for the perfect solution for my spot prone face and I seem to have finally found it - tea tree oil. The one that I'm reviewing, or talking about, today is from The Body Shop, but I'm sure any other will do.
Basically, I went into The Body Shop store and knew that I had to get something. The makeup was out of my price range and I did not need any of the body stuff. As soon as my eyes landed on the tea tree oil, I knew it was the one I needed to buy. It was 7 euros, but I'm sure you can get cheaper versions at any drugstore.
The actual product is what's important here, though. What I do is take a few drops on my finger and apply it directly onto my spots; you don't want to apply it all over your face as it is not meant for that and it will probably leave you with dry patches. You also don't want to apply it too often because that can dry out the areas as well (I know because it's happened to me). So, as I said, I apply it directly onto the spots and I do that a few times a day. I think it's great because it's clear, which means you can go out with it and no one will ever know. I have to warn you, though, it has a very uncomfortable smell, but, trust me, it's worth it. It dries out the spots pretty quickly and I haven't noticed any scars left afterwards.
If you're looking for a good spot treatment and something to clear your skin, I highly recommend trying tea tree oil. It obviously doesn't need to be from The Body Shop. I know for sure that when I repurchase it, it definitely won't be from there. Not because it's not good, but because we don't have it in Serbia and because I think I could spend less money on it. Although, I think this one will last me for a long time as little definitely goes a long way.
If you try it out, let me know if it works for you andif it does, you're welcome.

I am about to show you the things that I bought or got from my sister during my stay in Rome. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take photos of some of the clothes, but I'll try and link them for you. I've linked everything that I was able to find online. Here goes.

Zara Fruity Perfume - 10 €
The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil - 7€ (review coming on Sunday)
Wycon Liquid Pearl Eyeshadow - gift (review coming next Thursday)
 Bershka Wallet - gift
 Sticky notes from Tiger

Nike Air Force 1 - 75€ (excuse how dirty they are)
Now, for the clothes that I couldn't take a photo of because there are no usable backgrounds in my house, I tried to find them online, but that didn't really go as planned. Basically, Alcott won't cooperate. However, I would strongly recommend going into the store if you ever stumble across it because it is super affordable and the clothes don't seem any worse quality than any other high street store.

Bershka Bomber Jacket - gift (mine is obviously the baby pink one)
Alcott Sweater 3/4 lenght sleeves, mustard - 6€
Alcott Sweater 3/4 lenght sleeves, burgundy - 6€
Alcott Hoodie, fleece lined, grey - 10€

IKEA Mirror - gift

I know that this post is extremely late, but better late than never, right? This month I've got the whole package: movie, TV show, book, album and app, so get excited.
○ August Movie: Mother's Day
I'm sure you've heard about this movie a lot even before it came out, just like I did. It's a comedy and drama, or at least that's what is says on IMDb, with notes of romance of course. The cast is incredible, it includes Jennifer Aniston, Shay Mitchell, Kate Hudson and many others. The plot is obviously based around Mother's Day and how different families are spending it. What I love is how some characters' paths are intertwined throughout the movie, I love 'coincidences' like that. I don't want to give too much away, I'll just say that it is a very lighthearted comedy that will take your mind off of things and will be easy to follow as well as entertaining. It wouldn't be a movie without a hint of romance, so don't say I didn't warn you about it almost being a proper rom-com.
○ August TV Show: Pretty Little Liars
I realize that I'm getting slightly repetitive with these TV show recommendations, but that is only because new seasons of the shows I've already recommended are killing it and I have to share that. If you're a PLL fan, you'll know that there's always lots of drama and death and that it's pretty difficult to keep up with it. Well, that's what I love about it. I love dramatic TV show, in fact, they are my favourite kind. This season of PLL is extremely dramatic and never fails to leave you wanting more and keep you on your toes. Last week was the midseason finale and we have to wait until April to find out what happens next, which hurts my soul because they ended it on a huge cliff-hanger. If you've stopped watching it along the way or you were disappointed by the A reveal in the previous season, don't give up! It gets better. I can assure you it's worth watching as I've too been disappointed by that A reveal, but I stuck with it and I'm really happy that I did.
○ April Book: F. Scott Fitzgerald - The Great Gatsby
After a long time reading it, it's finally made its way into my monthly recommendations. I am a hundred per cent sure that you all know what The Great Gatsby is about. Exactly that - the great Gatsby. He's a very rich character who's past is extremely mysterious. Nobody really know what he does for a living or how we got his fortune, they just know that he throws amazing parties. Later down the line, we find out more about him through his friendship with the narrator - Nick Carraway. There's also a love motif behind most of Gatsby's actions as he's been in love with Nick's cousin Daisy for years on end, who he had a relationship with way before all his success. It basically introduces us to Gatsby's life story and to the lifestyle of America's upper class in the 1920s. It may have taken me a while to get into it properly, but I'm glad that I've read it because it is a classic.
○ August Album: Frank Ocean - Boys Don't Cry (Blond)
Finally! I can't believe that I am actually writing this. It's been such a long wait for this album, it's unreal. I'm absolutely ecstatic that it is out after all these years. If you aren't aware, Frank's previous album was released back in 2012 and ever since everyone has been anticipating the next one. It kind of became a very popular joke on the Internet. Anyway, now it is out and it is pretty damn good. I'm not sure if it's worth a 4 year wait, but it is still my cup of tea. I do prefer Channel Orange (his previous album), but maybe I just need to listen to this one a few more times so that it grows close to me.
○ August App: Episode
This might be slightly controversial, as I've seen a lot of people saying negative things about this game and making memes out of it, but I like it nonetheless. It's an interactive game in which you've got a bunch of different stories. You choose a story and you're assigned a character that you play in it. You click through the dialogue and get to choose what your character does or says in certain situations. My favourite stories have been Demi Lovato Path to Fame (all 3 seasons) and Mean Girls (both seasons). I feel like those two are a bit more professional, whereas the ones that are written by anyone who feels like writing.

If you're actually still reading and haven't given up, great job! Thanks for putting up with me rambling on like a mad person. That's all for this month. I feel like I have to write as much as I can in September to make up for not writing a lot during the past few months and also because I am starting college in October and don't know how often I'll get to write. I'll try my best though! There are lots of things coming up, so keep on checking in on Thursdays and Sundays at 4pm CET.

Once again I don't have a lot of photos from these two days, so I'm merging them into one post. This is the last day of posting photos from Rome, I hope you've enjoyed as much as I have.

On my way from the Mucha exhibit to the Barbie one, I took the wrong turn and somehow ended up on top of the Alatare della Patria. The view was to die for.

To end things the right way, we took a walk along the Tiber river because during the summer, there's this thing called Lungo Il Tevere Festival. There are lots of different stands and loads of really cute cafes. We decided to sit in one of them and have some coctails to say goodbye to Rome. The coctail you see on the photo is called My Toy Boy and it was delicious! I don't have any other photos as my phone ran out of battery after the Barbie exhibit. Whoops!

Day 9 was spent in bed due to everyone being ehxausted from our trip to Siena. Day 10 was super fun for me because I love seeing animals. The zoo was really cool because all the animals had their natural surroundings and lots of space. I know zoos can be a bit contraversial, but they exist nontheless so there's nothing I can do about it.

Only two days left of my Rome trip and then I'll write actual blog posts. Keep your eyes peeled.
